Finished the car lift project this week. The task was to create a city skyline in the sunset on each beam of the lift. Since I had to create 4 similar skylines on each pillar, I decided that the best effect would be achieved by doing a dramatic airbrushed sunset behind a stylized cartoony metropolis skyline. After the masking was removed I added all the window lights, tiny antennas and other details freehand with a brush. I tell you, that’s a serious amount of dots.
This was a co-op project with Morten from, North Side Custom. I called Morten in to handle the initial black base coat of the pillars, as well as assist me on some of the airbrushing and to do the final clear coat.
